Be Strong and Brave

Life can be tough at times, with difficult situations and setbacks that can make us want to hide under the covers instead of facing the challenges before us. Issues with health, relationships, parenting, finances, personal safety, loss of a loved one- to name a few- can sometimes cause us to live afraid, crouching in a corner, hoping one day all our issues will just disappear.

But it doesn't have to be that way. Of course we can't magically make life easy and every experience pleasant, but we can choose our response in these situations. We can choose to be confident knowing that God is with us. We can be strong and brave.

Not feeling very strong or brave? Feeling insignificant? Feeling like a failure? Perfect! That's when God can do what He does best. Sometimes we just have to be strong enough to surrender to God...strong enough to lay down whatever is a burden to us. Then, we can rely on the strength of the Lord. The focus isn't on who we are and what we bring to the table. It's about who is with us. We have to "...be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might". (Ephesians 6:10 NKJV)
